Installation Most rooms are installed by two men in just one day. Choice of indoor units You have a choice of indoor units. All are connected to an outdoor unit via refrigeration grade insulated pipework: Outdoor units are also available in larger sizes to run multiple indoor units if required. This is generally the simplest to fit. Available in cooling - only, or in inverter heat pump models to provide heat as well as cooling. A typical wall unit measures about 800mm wide x 280 high (31 inch x 11 inch). It can be mounted on any wall in the house, but obviously the pipework connection is easier to an outside wall. Various sizes and styles are available with cooling or heating capacity from 2KW to over 9 KW.
Floor / Ceiling mounted Similar performance to wall units, but mounted just above the floor like
a radiator. Ceiling cassette. Primarily designed to be concealed in suspended ceilings in offices, they can often be fitted in the home. However, expect to replastering of ceilings as access is needed to site pipework and condensate pump. Powerful, neat and unobtrusive, but more costly to buy and install. Ducted systems. Ducting cool air from a central unit installed in the attic is often a
convenient way of distributing cool air to ceiling vents upstairs bedrooms.
However, unless the ducts are designed in when the house is built or refurbished,
it is difficult to run ducting to lower floors. Therefore Ducted systems
are more common in offices with suspended ceilings.
